A History of Terra Nova

Terra Nova, the Sports and Arts Youth Centre of Montréal Youth for Christ is officially open for business.

The outside of the building, which once housed St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and was bought by West Island Baptist Church in the early 1970s, has not changed. But since the Baptist group gave their building to YFC in April 2003, the interior has undergone some radical renovations.

The pews were sold and the platform removed to transform the sanctuary into a gymnasium. The front wall is now a climbing wall, and the floor is lined with standard markings for basketball and hockey.

The basement has been remodeled with a kitchen, lounge, arts centre and offices.

Girls Group

Girls Group is a time where s between grades 7 and 9 can come to talk about a discussion topic that is geared towards them. The discussion topic changes each week. The s leave with new insight and anxious for the next opportunity to meet up as a group! For more information about s Group, please contact us.

ReachOut!

Dear parents and youth,

Montreal Youth Unlimited is pleased to bring you ReachOut!

• When: Every second Wednesday
• Times: 19:00-20:30
• Where: Terra Nova Youth Center, 298 Brookhaven, Dorval
• Who: For boys and s between grades 4 and 11.

ReachOut! is a program for grades 4-11. It is geared to give leadership skills to kids, and to promote social awareness in the form of service projects i.e. feeding the homeless, projects for needy kids overseas, community service. Those that lead ReachOut! want kids to be empowered to realize that they can make a difference in their community and on a global front.
